This is our double-bent straight-finger harrow for VT Kuhn Krause gangs, available in 15″ or 16″ diameter. Like our single-bent straight harrow, this style’s finger leads more directly into the ground than our curved harrow does — built for clay-heavy soil that resists breaking up.
The “double bent” name describes how the two fingers are formed: one finger is bent forward, the other bent back — as opposed to our single-bent HD Straight Bent Harrow, where both fingers bend the same direction at the same time. The raw steel itself is 3/4″ square, same gauge as our single-bent harrow; bending the fingers in opposite directions is what gives this harrow its 3″ working width once it’s mounted and running.
What a harrow does, regardless of style: level the ground, break up remaining chunks, and bury residue so black soil ends up on top. That matters more than it sounds like it should — soil exposed on top dries in the sun, which is often the difference between planting the same day you till and waiting on the field to dry out.
Where this really pays off is when one section gets damaged. OEM harrows on most machines are mounted as one continuous piece on the gang — bend one and you’re pulling the whole gang apart, which can take hours if the hardware’s rusted. Our harrows use a segmented, field-repairable system: pull two bolts, swap the damaged section, and you’re back in the field in a couple of minutes.
Field Notes
A bad finish behind the machine — streaking, ridging, big chunks left on top, residue not getting buried — usually means it’s time to check your harrows.
In stock and ships fast from our Wisconsin warehouse — less time waiting on parts, more time in the field.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from your single-bent HD Straight Bent Harrow?
The bend pattern. This double-bent harrow has one finger bent forward and the other bent back; the single-bent version has both fingers bent the same direction at the same time. Both are straight-finger styles built for clay-heavy ground. This one fits VT Kuhn Krause gangs; the HD Straight Bent Harrow fits Great Plains.
What size steel is this harrow, and how wide does it actually run in the field?
The raw steel is 3/4″ square — same gauge as our single-bent harrow. Bending the fingers in opposite directions gives it a 3″ working width once it’s mounted and running.
What sizes does this come in?
15″ diameter at $19.00, or 16″ diameter at $19.25.
Can I replace just one harrow, or do I have to take the whole gang apart?
Just the one — our harrows use a field-repairable segmented mounting system. Pull two bolts, swap the damaged section, and you’re done, instead of disassembling the entire gang the way you would with a one-piece OEM harrow.
How do I know it’s time to replace my harrows?
Look for bent or missing sections. In the field, the tell is a bad finish behind the machine — streaking, ridging, large chunks left on the surface, or residue that isn’t getting buried like it should.
