This bearing carries the star wheel assembly, not the blade gang — a surface-running component some Kuhn Krause setups use instead of, or alongside, a ground-penetrating harrow. It’s a different job than a gang bearing does, and it’s not interchangeable with one.
It’s a TillXtreme bearing — 7 lip seals against 3 to 4 on a standard bearing, sealed at the factory with no grease schedule. The center hole is 1 1/2″ round. Fits Great Plains, McFarlane, and VT Kuhn Krause.
Most bearing failures don’t come from impact — they come from side load. A gang that wasn’t assembled square puts constant lateral pressure on the bearing regardless of seal count. Get the gang square before you torque it down.
