This is the wave version of our 20″ Soil Razor line. Where our straight-flute Soil Razor cuts each flute straight in from the outside edge to the center, this one wraps the flute as it comes in — that’s the “wave.” The idea is that a wrapped flute grabs the soil a little differently on its way through, pulling it up rather than just fracturing it in place.
We’ll give you the honest read on that: it may cut slightly differently in the ground, but it’s not a difference most customers will actually see in the field. It is, however, directional — a wave blade has to be installed the correct way on the gang, unlike a straight-flute blade, which doesn’t care which way it faces.
At 28 flutes, this runs more flutes than our 25-Flute Soil Razor, which means better penetration in harder or clay-heavy soil, with each flute moving less dirt per pass. Same dual-fit center hole as the rest of the Soil Razor line: works on a 1 3/4″ round shaft or a 1 1/2″ square shaft, one blade for both. It also fits Great Plains machines running a gang angle, alongside its McFarlane and Kuhn Krause fitment.
Field Notes
On a 20″ blade, start measuring once it’s been in the ground a season. When it wears down to about 18 1/2″, it’s time to replace — you’re losing flute size along with diameter.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between this wave blade and your straight-flute Soil Razor?
The flute pattern. Our straight-flute Soil Razor cuts straight in from the outside edge to the center. This one wraps as it comes in — that’s the wave. It also means this blade is directional and has to be installed the correct way on the gang, unlike a straight-flute blade.
Does the wave pattern actually work better than a straight flute?
We won’t oversell it — it may grab the soil slightly differently on its way through, but it’s not a difference most customers will notice in the field. Choose based on flute count and fitment first.
Will this blade fit my machine if I have a square shaft?
Yes — same dual-fit center hole as our straight-flute Soil Razor: works on a 1 3/4″ round shaft or a 1 1/2″ square shaft.
Does this blade fit Great Plains machines?
Yes — it fits Great Plains machines running a gang angle, in addition to its McFarlane and Kuhn Krause fitment.
How does 28 flutes compare to your 25-Flute Soil Razor?
More flutes means better penetration in harder, clay-heavy ground — this 28-flute wave blade digs in a bit better than our 25-Flute Soil Razor, with each flute moving slightly less dirt per pass. If your ground is normal to lighter, the 25-Flute moves more dirt with less resistance.
